About FIFA and FIFA 17
FIFA, also known as FIFA Football or FIFA Soccer, is a series of association football video games or football simulator, released annually by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports label. While there was no major competition when EA released the first titles in their Madden NFL and NHL series, football video games such as Sensible Soccer, Kick Off and Match Day had been developed since the late 1980s and already competitive in the games market when EA Sports announced a football game as the next addition to their EA Sports label. When the series began in late 1993, it was notable for being the first to have an official licence from FIFA, the world governing body of football. The latest installments in the series contain many exclusively-licensed leagues including leagues and teams from around the world, including the German Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, English Premier League and Football League, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, Portuguese Primeira Liga, French Ligue 1, Dutch Eredivisie, Brazilian Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Mexican Liga MX, American Major League Soccer, South Korean K-League, Saudi Professional League and Australian A-League, allowing the use of real leagues, clubs, and player names and likenesses within the games. In addition, internationally popular clubs from around the world, including some teams from Greece, Turkey, Argentina and South Africa, without those nations’ entire leagues.
The main series has been complemented by additional installments based on single major tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Football Championship, and UEFA Champions League, as well as a series of football management titles.
FIFA 17 is an upcoming association football video game in the FIFA series, scheduled to be released on 27 September 2016 in North America and 29 September 2016 for the rest of the world. This will be the first FIFA game in the series to use the Frostbite game engine. On 21st July 2016, it was announced that Marco Reus would feature on the cover of the game.
EA Sports announced at E3 2016 that they will have all 20 Premier League managers’ likenesses in the game (face scan, etc.). The new features in FIFA 17 include new attacking techniques, physical player overhaul, active intelligence system and set piece rewrite.
On 23 June 2016, EA Sports announced that the J1 League and J.League Cup will be featured in the game for the first time ever.
The Journey game mode
The game will feature a new single-player story campaign mode titled The Journey for PS4, Xbox One and PC where players assume the role of Alex Hunter, a young footballer trying to make his mark in the Premier League. The player will be able to select one of 20 Premier League clubs to play for at the beginning of the season. The player can play any position including goalkeeper. The story mode also features a dialogue wheel, similar to the Mass Effect series.The Journey will pull you through a true-to-life experience in the Premier League. It’s a cinematic world informed and influenced by real players, personalities, locations, and events that take you places you’ve never been and bring you experiences only available in FIFA 17.
Alex Hunter is a 17-year-old multiracial male from humble beginnings in Clapham, London. Hunter’s grandfather is a former English striker Jim Hunter (20 goals in the 1966–67 season). Under his grandfather’s guidance, Hunter has decided to play as a footballer in the Premier League.
Marco Reus, Eden Hazard, James Rodríguez and Anthony Martial were announced as the official ambassadors of the game. After a global cover vote conducted by EA Sports, Marco Reus emerged as the winner.
